Respected Sir,
I am an diploma in automobile engineer and also had 10+2 from arts background. Can i eligible to join INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY or TERRITORIAL ARMY as an officer. And if eligible than what is the procedure to joining the same.

Can I be eligible to join in Indian Military Academy as an officer after compliting B.Tech in Information Technology, and if yes then tell me the procedure(i'm 21yrs old).

hi,
you can definitely join IMA(Indian Military Academy), Dehradun after your 12th class.
You can go for following entries:
1. NDA(National Defence Academy) Exam:
-age limit: 16 and 1/2 to 19 years.
-educational qualification: should be a 12th appearing or pass student from a recognized board.
2. TES(Technical Entry Scheme) 10+2 Cadet Entry:
-age limit: 17 to 19 years.
-educational qualification: should be a 12th pass student from a recognized board having 70% minimum in PCM(Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

I am sorry to say that after passing diploma in automobile engineering you can not apply for I.M.A.

If you want to join I.M.A then you have to pass graduation with any stream.
After passing graduation with any stream you have to qualify the C.D.S exam.

C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Age limit for C.D.S exam is 19-24 year.

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

you should at least be a 10+2 holder.diploma holders are not eligible , my friend!!
only you should either go for B.E or B.tech in your specialization in diploma through lateral entry.
then u can join NAVY and AIrforce as engineering stream officers

Eligibility For Indian Military Academy

To join the Indian Military Academy(IMA) you must clear the Combined Defence Services(CDS) Exam..

The CDS is conducted in February and September by the UPSC every year..

A candidate can appear for the CDS Exam only if :-

>> the candidate has completed graduation in any stream from a recognized institute..

>> the candidate must be within the age limit of 19-24 years for applying for the IMA..

Yes,you are definitely eligible to apply for the IMA as you satisfy both the criterion..

You will be tested on the basis of the following subjects :-

>> Maths
>> English
>> GK

The written exam will be a total of 300 marks and each of the above mentioned sections shall carry 100 marks..

Go through the previous year question papers that I have attached for your reference..

I hope they will help you out in your preparations..

The forms for CDS-2 2013 shall be available from 25th May,2013 to 24th June,2013

The CDS-2 shall be conducted on 8th September,2013
