Hi,
The choice depends upon your thinking and decision. both are fruitful and scopeful fields to go after graduation. If you think and is more interested towards managerial work then go for MBA otherwise continue with your technical education and advance your skills in your field. but if we see the best option comes out to be MBA in every aspect like payscale, work culture and growth. |

I'll suggest CAT, because now a days all most every company prefer engineering graduate with MAB, you will be paid well. But clearing GATE and doing further studies is not bad you can master in your field and go for Ph.D. Rest is on you.

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
It is purely based on the decision of an individual based on interest and also demand...
CAT for MBA that is Master of Business Administration and GATE for doing M.Tech that is Master in technology both are two side of a coin and purely different from each other... if you want to take interest and see your future in TECHNICAL side than gate is best option and if you take interest in management in business than CAT is best option..... and also both are equally having a good scope..so no need to worry about scope just take your interest part...... |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
Dear Friend,
According to my opinion GATE is the better option for B.Tech. graduates. Many students & some my friends can do GATE after B.E. or B.Tech. graduates. CAT is NOT better option for B.Tech. graduates. Good Luck |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
It basically depends upon your interest. If your interested to learn more subject wise then M.tech is a better option.M.tech is nothing but doing specialization in a subject related to your B.tech stream.
If your interested in management and business then CAT is the better option. Both degree's have the equal value and preference job wise. But if your interested in Salary wise MBA will be a better option. If you have more knowledge subject wise and wishing to explore the subject then go for GATE |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
Hi
CAT and GATE are Two Post Graduate Exams conducted in our country on All India Basic. Both these have different purposes. So before deciding which course one should go for, I would like to brief a bit about both these courses. CAT - Common Admission Test This is conducted by the IIM's to select candidates for the course called MBA - Master's in Business Administration. Its a full time 2 year program which can be done by graduates having their origin's in any stream. CAT is also regarded as one of the toughest exams in the world. GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering This is conducted by the IIT's to select candidates for the M.Tech course in various colleges in IIT's, NIT's, BITS etc.. Its also a full time 2 year course and can be done by only those graduate who belong to B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharmacy/B.Architecture. Now before you decide what to do, you have to make up your mind as to what field you want to go. MBA is a professional field and you would want to expect a good corporate job after doing an MBA course. In the same place, M.Tech is a fully technical course, and you should look for becoming a professor field or maybe some research line after completion of that. So you have to decide for CAT or GATE in your quest as to which field you want to finally end up in. I would recommend GATE and the CAT. B.Tech + M.Tech + MBA is a lethal combination in any market. Hope this helps All the best Regards #RJ# |

Hi dear..........
CAT is for doing MBA , GATE is for doing M.tech. Both are good , this depends upon you to choose from this what is your interest to do. If you are interested to join in some finance companies then you can go for MBA. If you are interested to go in same line as you are then you can go for GATE. Below is a carrier chart from where you can get details information........ Good luck....... |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
dear friend,
After completion of B.tech graduates you can apply for both the entrance exams GATE and CAT as well.. GATE exam is an entrance exam for M.tech course and for CAT exam is for MBA course. Now it depends upon your interest , you should go for a course in which you can excel yourself.. As you have done B.tech course then I will suggest you to go for M.tech course. Through that course you can get specialize in your field , also can gather more technical knowledge in your field.. After completion of M.tech course you can get a good core technical job.. If you have interest in management field then you can go for MBA course. MBA course is very much job prospective.. After completion of which you can expect a very good job with a high salary and higher designation.. So, you decide in which field you want to make your future career. All the best. |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
You are standing at a crucial stage of your career. You have to make a very careful decision.
If you are academically oriented and interested in teaching, research, etc. go for GATE. GATE is the gateway for PG studies and possibly later to PhD. With this, you can enter teaching profession. In teaching, tension is less. You deal with fresh boys and girls and get the satisfaction of guiding them. Being in a campus will also motivate you to continuously update your knowledge. You may guide students' projects, take up research, take up industrial consultancy, attend national/international seminars, publish papers and even books. You may also handle a limited amount of administrative work. There is scope for extra earning by way of consultancy, tuition, etc. As a teacher, successive batches of boys and girls would remember you for ever and respect you. Of course, it is not that GATE seals your fate to teaching. After, PG you may still take up a job in any company. The PG degree, in fact, enhances your value and salary. CAT takes you to Management line (and to a limited extent to teaching in Management later). Salary could be higher. You would be networking with several people. Will have targets to meet, different types of people to handle, crisis to be resolved. If the company is big enough, you may have the satisfaction of handling an SBU independently. You may visit abroad for the company's expansion plans. You will have a new experience every day. Decide for yourself. |

The better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates.
As you are a student of B.Tech. it is better that you can choose a technical line for distance education than business line. So you can choose M.Tech. after B.Tech. course for made your career more bright.
Therefore GATE is the better option than CAT for a B.Tech student. |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
Hai,
The option is in your hand because you are a b.tech graduate. CAT is for MBA. GATE is for M.tech. It is purely based on your opinion of an individual interest of you. CAT is for MBA and GATE is for M. Tech, so GATE is the best choice for you. If you are interested in management administration then chose your option for CAT. The two CAT and GATE are the best choices for your future. So just follow your heart and take correct decision. All the best for your bright future. |

Re: Which is a better option among CAT and GATE for B.Tech. graduates?
Hai,
You are a B.tech graduate so you are not a kid to teach all of us, just we are giving an instructions or options for you just chose one of the best CAT(COMMAN ADMISSION TEST) is conducted by IIM's in india for entry to various IIMs present in india. The admissions are based on your scores in the CAT exam. GATE(GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST in ENGINEERING) is specially for the M.tech students. GATE: Conducted by one of seven Indian Institutes of Technology in rotation, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an annual exam for admission to M.Tech and M.S. programmes in most engineering in india It is regarded as a benchmark test for engineering graduates in India [citation needed]. This examination is coordinated by a committee, comprising of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, and Government of India. The pattern and syllabus are usually based on a candidate's B.Tech. Or BE syllabus. Minimum eligibility for appearing in this exam is usually a B.Tech, BE, B. Arch. or Masc. The exam is usually conducted on second Sunday of February. PSU's like BARC, NPCIL, HAL etc. give importance to GATE scores for various job positions in their organizations. It is not worthy for anyone doing P.G in some college other than Foreign/Indian University Colleges, and Premiere Private Engineering Colleges. All the best |

If you have done your graduation, then you should think about GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and CAT(Common Admission Test). You must remember that CAT is for MBA and GATE is for M.Tech. If you are willing to work in a company, then you better opt for CAT or if you wish to teach in future you should opt for GATE. CAT is when you want to study for MBA and the best college as per now is IIM.Every single person who gives the CAT exam wants to study in one of the IIMs.It will provide you great job opportunities with high salary packages and with great reputation.Nowadays, there is a lot of competition seen in this field. GATE is when you are interested to become a teacher and it is a little streesful as you need to handle studentshelp them in their projects, take up research, attend seminars, etc. It is,actually, totally based on your personal decision and interest. You should gather more and more information about these two lines,so that you don't find it difficult once you entered in a field. All The Best |
