i scored very poor in graduation but my intermediate percentage was good, can i apply for IAS entrance exam?

Minimum Qualification

Candidate should be Graduate from recognized university.

(no percentage is required just passing marks are enough)

Dear Aspirant

The minimum requirement to appear in IAS entrance Exam is Graduation Passed in any specialization & there is no percentage limit mentioned for it so you can apply for IAS entrance exam.

IAS entrance exam is conducted by Union public Service commission of Indian that is known as Civil Service Examination held once in a year.


AGE limit for IAS:

~21 to 33 years for General category,

~21 to 35 for OBC category,

~21 to 35 for SC/ST category.


UPSC civil service exam has three stages for IAS selection:

Preliminary exam

Main exam

Personal interview

Yes, you can apply for UPSC Civil services examination, after completing your Graduate degree course. To become IAS Officer, you have to complete your Graduate degree course first and then you can apply for Civil services examination, this examination is Conducted by UPSC every year.

To apply for this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

If you have scored less marks in graduation, then please do not worry because passed in graduation is Enough for this examination.

For this year UPSC Civil services examination Notification was already declared and the last date of apply for this examination was already extended

The last date of apply for this examination 08/March/2012

If you are Interested to become IAS Officer, then please apply for the examination soon before the last date.

The examination is Conducted in 2 stages, Preliminary examination and Main examination, Preliminary examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in Preliminary examination. But Main examination is Descriptive and there are 9 Papers in main examination. If you have cracked the Preliminary examination, only then you are eligible for Main examination.

Yes, you can apply for IAS entrance exam as there is no percentage criteria to apply for this. There is no specific entrance exam for IAS.

IAS-INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer you have to appear and crack Civil Service Exam.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age. There is upper age relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidate up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary exam comprises of all objective type questions.

Civil Service Main examination comprises of descriptive type questions as prescribed from the syllabus.

Can i apply ias exam form in final year graduation

To apply in I.A.S. examination, you need to complete your graduation.
You can complete your graduation from any discipline or with any subject.
Only passing mark in graduation is required for this examination.
Low score does not matters. If you have passing marks in graduation you can apply for I.A.S. examination.
