Re: Can I get a job as a lecturer after taking MSc in Oceanography?
Certainly its possible if you have pursued this course from a recognised institute. You will need to clear the NET exam for the same. To appear for the exam make sure you have 55% marks. You can apply for the exam scheduled in June 2012. Start preparing based on past papers. Information on the exam is available in the UGC site.

Re: Can I get a job as a lecturer after taking MSc in Oceanography?
oceanography is one of the department offered in very few universities ...many pupile are doing there research in this domain and most of the subjects are not much related to regular physics ..so getting a job as a lecture is little hard unless your are strong in basic concepts.
if you are intrested in lecture job for +2 ..always u will be having opportunites because there major requirement will be MSC in physics. All the best... |

Re: Can I get a job as a lecturer after taking MSc in Oceanography?
Yes ,you can get the job as a lecturer after taking Msc in oceanography because the minimum criteria for a lecturer is the Post graduation in that particular subject. But Your marks will be 55% in your Msc & after that you have to clear the NET exam which is very important for any student to get the job of a lecturer.
But very few persons opt it as a career for the lecturership job.Basically Oceanographers apply the basic sciences to study the world’s oceans and coastal waters. They study the motion and circulation of the ocean waters and their physical and chemical properties, and how these properties affect coastal areas, climate, and weather. Often, they are chemists, physicists, biologists, or geologists who bring their special skills to ocean studies. Being essentially a research–oriented profession, long periods are spent at the sea with all its challenges and hazards. Depending upon the areas of specialisation they work in several fields such as marine biology, geological oceanography, physical oceanography and chemical oceanography. |
