Re: How to apply for IAS exam and what is the eligibility for IAS exam?
Hi, for the UPSC exam you need to be between the ages of 21 years and 30 years. However, the upper age limit is relaxed (from 3-10 years) under certain conditions, for example if you belong to a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989, disabled Defence Services personnel, ex-serviceman or are handicapped etc. The minimum eligibility for applying is that you should have done your graduation in any subject, from any recognised college of university in India. The UPSC conducts the combined Civil Services Exam in three phases: the preliminary exam, main exam and interview. The entire cycle will take well over a year to complete. It is recommended to join a coaching centre for preparation of these exams. All the Best!
