Its very god to know that you've made up your mind to become an IPS officer so early. However, to become an IPS officer, the minimum educational qualification required is a bachelors degree in any stream. Once you complete your graduation, you will have to qualify the civil service examination conducted by the union public service commission. The examination comprise of three stages including two written exam and an interview and you'll have to qualify all the stages to get selected for the IPS. The minimum eligible age to apply for the exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Since, you are in 9th Standard, you have a long way to go but do keep up the spirit. |

IPS stands for Indian Police Service which is a part of the Civil Service Exams conducted by Union Public Service Commission. So IPS, IAS and IFS are all prestigious exams which requires you to serve in any part of the country. On the basis of the marks you secure and the preference you mention you will get a rank accordingly in the IPS.
To get selected you need to first clear the written exam-both prelim and main and during the interview session you need to satisfy all the set physical standards as well. The preliminary exam generally takes place in the month of May and main exam in the month of October or November. The preliminary exam is generally loaded with objective questions and this exam has been divided into two categories:- one is general studies for which 150 marks have been allotted and the other is the optional subjects for which 300 marks have been allotted. For the main exam there will be 5 types of papers and total marks allotted is 2300 marks. The first two papers are qualifying papers so no marks have been allotted for them. Only on clearing the prelim paper you will be allowed to sit for the main exam. Hope this helps |
