Hello friend,
Its very god to know that you've made up your mind to become an IPS officer so early. However, to become an IPS officer, the minimum educational qualification required is a bachelors degree in any stream. Once you complete your graduation, you will have to qualify the civil service examination conducted by the union public service commission. The examination comprise of three stages including two written exam and an interview and you'll have to qualify all the stages to get selected for the IPS. The minimum eligible age to apply for the exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

Since, you are in 9th Standard, you have a long way to go but do keep up the spirit.

hey
well
i was shocked to hear that from such a young boy/girl.
i will suggest you to first concentrate on your studies, and your health till twelveth,
and keep yourself updated wth current affairs
then god forbid, bt nobody knows future
so instead of choosing political science in graduation , i will suggest you to choose a right subjects, so that u have choice for any other carreer too.

after graduation in any stream, you can appear for IPS exam.
good luck

This is good to have aim in early stage....

For IPS you can choose any stream in 12th class and then do graduation in any stream of your interest.

Minimum education criteria = Graduate
also Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination, however, they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.

He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing

How to apply:-You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam.

This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...

It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs..

(Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of
  • Current events.
  • History
  • Geography
  • Indian Polity and governance
  • Economic and social development
  • and General science.

It is of purely objective type and qualifying exam...

(Paper II) (200 marks)
  • Comprehension
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • General mental ability
  • Basic numeracy(Class X level)
  • English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

It is of purely subjective type and followed by interview....
Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

Its sounds good, that you want to serve the nation, which is really appreciable.
As the minimum educational qualification needed for appear in the civil service examination , is a graduation degree from a recognized college in any discipline .

So, you are not eligible yet, for this examination.

The age limit for this examination is 21-30 years,.
there are 5 & 3 years of age relaxations are applicable for the SC\ST & OBC [NON-CREAMY LAYER].

This civil service examination is conducted in three stages by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION [UPSC],.
1. CSAT [CIVIL SERVICE ATTITUDE TEST]
2. MAINS
3.INTERVIEW [PERSONALITY TEST]

CSAT exam pattern-

Thank you!!

Hai,
First of all i appreciate your decision for your future.
To become an IPS officer first complete your 10th standard after you need to complete +2 and then after you have to complete your graduation with 60% marks, so if you fulfill there educational qualifications you are eligible to apply IPS exam, IPS stands for INDIAN POLICE SERVICE which is conducted by the UPSC once in a year.

So all the best friend.
