IAS exams are conducted by UPSC every year.

Minimum qualification required to appear for IAS exams is Graduation from a recognized university.

To become an IAS Officer you need to crack Civil Service Exam.

Eligibility criteria in Details:
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.
If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

How to apply:
•Apply online by using the website
http://www.upsconline.nic.in
•Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country.

You can become IAS officer after civil Engineering.

Qualification:


You must have completed Graduation from any recongnized University.


You can also appear for this exam, if you are in final year of your Graduation.


You will have to clear three stages to Qualify Civil Services Exam:


>> Preliminary Exam (CSAT Exam)


>> Mains Exam


>> Personal Interview

Age Criteria:


For General: 21 to 30 years


For OBC: 21 to 33 years


For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years


No. of Attempts:


For General: 3


For OBC: 7


For SC/ST: No Restriction

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .

Those candidate have completed graduation degree from recognized university are eligible for IAS exam.Final year student are applicable for IAS Exam.

After completion of B-Tech Civil Engineering , you are applicable for IAS exam.

The Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates .

Age relaxation:-

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

The maximum no of attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

To become an IAS officer you have to appear in the UPSC Civil services Exams.

UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview

Eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is:

Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university
No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

AGE- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations


ATTEMPTS-
General candidates- 4 times
OBC- 7 times
SC/ST- No such restriction


Scheme of examination: - PRELIMINARY EXAMS

PAPER 1- Current events, History of India,Indian National Movement, India and World Geography, Indian polity and governance General science, Economic and social development,General issues on environmental

Yes definitely you can apply for IAS examination after completion of Civil Engineering Graduation.

So don't worry and complete your Graduation. You can also start your preparation of IAS preliminary examination.

Age criteria for IAS exam:

General Category - 21 to 30 years

SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years

OBC Category - 21 to 33 years

Exam Pattern:

-Preliminary Test- Objective Type Paper

-Mains Exam - Descriptive Type Paper

-Interview

So be prepared for the above stages if you want to become an IAS officer.

For Becoming an IAS Officer a candidate have to apply for the Civil Service Examination, IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Service and this exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year......

IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer, one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year after Graduation.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

So as you are pursing Civil Engineering, after completion of B.Tech., you are eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam.

For applying CSE Civil Service Exam you require following Qualification

As you are doing Civil Engineering, so you can apply for IAS Exam only if you are in the Final year of your Graduation Course.

If you completed Graduation, then also you can apply for IAS Exam.

Actually, IAS Exam is formally Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC every year for the posts of IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, etc.

Upcoming Exam will be conducted on 26 May 2013.
