Re: How to become an IAS officer? I am a inter 2nd year student
IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. So you are now not eligible to apply for it as you are pursing 12th but after it you can start your preparation accordingly with an aim to become an IAS officer.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The selection is through three phases:- -CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam -Civil Service Main Exam -Personal Interview For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: How to become an IAS officer? I am a inter 2nd year student
You are still in 10+2 hence you can not apply for IAS examination now. You have to study further if you want to apply for IAS examination.
For IAS examination the basic requirement is Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university. So complete your 10+2 and then opt for Graduation from a good college and then start preparing for IAS exam from the 1st year . The age required for IAS examination is 21 to 30 years for General Category. There is age relaxation available for OBC ,SC/ST and PWD categories. You have to study well if you want to become an IAS officer because the number of attempts are limited for General and OBC categories. There is no limit in attempts for SC/ST candidates in IAS examination. The IAS examination has three stages and you have to perform very well if you want to become an IAS officer. -CSAT -Mains Exam -Personal Interview The merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the mains and Interview.
