Hello friend

IPS is a civil service exam conducted by UPSC board.

Educational qualification :
1. Candidates must complete graduation from recognized board in India.

Age limit :
1. The candidates age msut be in 21-30 years.

Age relaxations :
1. Relaxation for 3 years for obc
2. Relaxation for 5years is given for sc/st's

Number of times for writing the exam :
1. General category-4,
2. OBC-7
3. No limit for sc/st

To become an IPS officer you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services exams

Eligibilty to apply for this exams is

Educational Qualification :
A Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognised University.
Final year appeared/appearing candidates can also apply.

Age Limit :
General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam
OBC-21-33yrs
SC/ST-21-35yrs

Attempts :
General Category-4 times
OBC-7 times
SC/ST-Unlimited times

UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview

In the Prelims exams there are two apers and syallbus for those two papers are:

Paper One
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
General Science.
Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.


Paper Two
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision-making and problem-solving
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) Data
interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.
English Language Comprehension skills
