You can apply for Indian Administrative Service. Let me help you out with the subjects. Firstly it is important to know that you will have to pick one subject for Preliminary Exam and 2 subjects for the Main Exam.

There will be total of 4 papers on the 2 optional subjects in the main exam. So it is important that you pick the right subjects. But before that you also need to clear the Preliminary exam.

Now what a lot of people do is that they pick subjects like geography, history for the preliminary exam. Since the aim of preliminary is only to qualify for the main exam and the marks obtained in it are not added in the final tally. This actually makes a lot of sense.

In the main exam, it is recommended to choose subjects related to your course. You didn't mention the engineering stream of yours, but still I would say that if you find it easy, you should pick it as one of the optional subjects.

Never go for the subjects that are not related to your course. It will prove to be a big mistake. This is what I will recommend regarding selecting optional subjects for the Indian Administrative Service Exam.

Eligibility

1. Only candidates of Indian origin can apply.

2. A bachelor degree from a recognized university.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years.

5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates.

6. Candidates belonging to SC/ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation.

Exam Pattern

1. Preliminary Exam - 2 papers

2. Main Exam - 9 papers

3. Interview
