How can I join Indian Police Service being a BSc(Physics) Honours student?


Hello Sir, I have completed my 12th with Science stream. I have now entered in Graduation and studying BSc with Physics Honours. I want to join Indian Police Service. Kindly let me know how can I join?

Indian Police Service is one of the prestigious services in India. Eligibility criteria is written below.

>> Candidates should complete graduation in any discipline.
>> Candidates age must be between 21 to 32 years .
>> Candidates must be Indian Citizen.

So, as you completed class 10+2 and now, studying B.Sc in Physics, you are eligible to join Police Service. You have to appear in UPSC , SSC etc. civil service examinations and must crack it to join IPS.

Yes, you can appear in Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC.

Candidates passed bachelor degree from a recognised university are eligible to appear in examination. Age limit is 21-32 years.

To join Indian Police Service i.e; for becoming an IPS officer, you need to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

--> For appearing in the Civil Services examination, the minimum eligibility criteria required are as following :-

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is allowed for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your bachelor's degree or should be in the final year of your bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

* You must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms for joining IPS wing of the Civil Services.

If you want to join the service, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service Examination.

IPS comes under Civil Services of India. The entrance examination for IPS is called Civil Services examination.

Eligibility criteria for Civil Services exam:

* Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply for exam.

*The age criteria is 21-32 years.

You can apply for exam in final year of bachelor's degree.

You can apply for Indian Police Services examination in final year of bachelor's degree. The name of exam is Civil Services examination.

Eligibility criteria:

1. You must have done bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.

2. The age limit for Civil Services examination is 16.5 to 19.5 years.

3. Unmarried male candidates can apply for exam.

You can appear for Civil Service Examination after bachelor degree. It is conducted in three stage and after qualifying in all the stage you will become eligible for recruitment as an I.P.S Officer.

The examination is among the toughest examination so you have to study with determination, dedication and devotion to qualify for examination.
