respected sir / madam,
presently i am 15 years old and doing diploma course in electronics and communication branch from central institute of technology, kokrajhar. now i am in 1st year and had recently completed 1st semester.
i want to join merchant navy just after completeing my diploma course.so, it's my humble request to you that kindly give me the shortest direction to join merchant navy and please list the necessary things that i should start practicing.

You can surely join merchant navy after your diploma course. For this you have to do a 2-year course in merchant navy. Some of the public sector organization offering training is MERI, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and research, Training Ship Chanakya, etc. You should have a good physical health and a sound mental health to join Merchant navy. The eye sight of the candidate should be sharp i.e. 6/6. The main attraction of joining merchant navy is good pay along with a thrilling life.

Eligibility criteria to join merchat navy is
1) have done 12th
2) have socred not less than 60% (it can't be 59.8 or any other percentage)
3) have PCM in 12th
4) age limit should be between 18 to 23
so sorry you are not eligible for this as you have not scored 60% in PCM as
well as 12th
so go ahead with indian navy by doing CSD

Eligibility criteria:


You should be a citizen of india.


You should complete your 10+2 from any recognised state board of india.


You must be physically fit.


Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to appear.


Age should be 16.5years to19years.

Merchant navy is a Branch in NDA exam.NDA stands for National Defense Academy.This is conducted by UPSC for those who are interested in gettign in to Defene services.UPSC conducts this exam twice every year.Only male un-married Students are eligible to apply for this exam.You need complete your 12th from a recognized board to apply for this exam.Your age need to be between 16.5 to 19 years.


For Merchant navy:-

You need to have passed 12th with minimum of 55%.You need to between 19 to 23 years of age.Age relaxation is female and reservation students.For female age relaxation is of 2 years.For SC/ST/BC/OBC students it is of 5 years.Your eye sight should be 6/6 with out any kindof visual problem. So to apply for this exam or for any other information visit the official web site of UPSC.

These are following criteria to join Merchant Navy after completing diploma course-------

1.You should pursue your graduation from a recognized university
2.You should be a citizen of india
3.The minimium 505%required in graduation level
4.You must be physically fit
5.The candidates must be unmarried male
6.You need to between 19 to 23 years of age.

Yes if you complete deploma in electronics and communication then join to Pre-Sea training MARINE ENGINEER
