IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam .This exam conduct every year .

Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized university are eligible to apply for IAS exam . Final year students eligible for applying preliminary examination .There is not required any specific marks criteria for IAS exam .

If you are from general category then your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for reserved category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

IAS exam conduct in 3 steps like - 1)Preliminary Exam 2)Mains Exam 3)Personal Interview.

Pattern for Preliminary Exam:-

(Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.

Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
General science.

(Paper II) (200 marks) – Duration : Two hrs

Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

hello friend,
the percentage is not essential for applying these civill services exams.
You must have only a graduation degree with minimum paas marks from a recognized university.
For getting the job in Indian Civil Services, you must have apply for the exams of IPS, IRS, IFS etc. That is conducted by the UPSC twie in the year.
For apply these exam, youhave the following educational and phyical conditions-
1. You must have a graduate holder from a recognised university with minimum paas marks.
2. Your age lies between 21 to 30 years.
3. Firstly, you have to qualify the priminilary exam and after qualify this, you have to give the main exam.
The conditions for the main exam is
general candidate can only give four times this exam whereas OBC and SC candidate give this exam 7 and 10 time.
4. After qualify the main exam, you are eligible for the interview.
