The main eligibility criterion to become a customs officer is a graduation. You have to appear for SSC exam, as part of selection process for this exam. Notifications about suitable posts in this department will be published in SSC official site. You can apply for suitable posts via online. The questions included in this exam will be from subject areas like Reasoning and mental ability, English skills, General Knowledge, Language and comprehension skills etc. If you are able to qualify this exam, you will have to attend physical test followed by a personal interview as well.
