Yes , After 12th standard with commerce stream you are applicable for Indian Army Exam but you must attend in NDA exam also cleared this exam.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy.NDA Examination are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year. The minimum qualification required for NDA exam is 12th standard.

NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings -

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force

Those candidate have completed 12th standard with science ,arts ,commerce departments are applicable for NDA exam.Commerce and arts stream mainly applicable for one wings is Indian Army.

Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.There are no age relaxation criteria for SC/ST criteria.

Only unmarried male candidate are applicable for NDA exam.Also you must have citizenship of India.

If you have fulfill the above criteria then you must fulfill the below Physical fitness criteria otherwise you are not applicable for NDA exam.





NDA I exam date already over so if you are very Interested in Indian army then you can apply NDA II exam before closing date.I have listed the exam date details of NDA II exam.

• Date of commencement of notification : 05-05-2012
• Last date for the receipt of completed application forms : 04-06-2012
• Date of NDA II Exam : 19-08-2012

It has three branches:
1.INDIAN ARMY
2.INDIAN NAVY
3.INDIAN AIR FORCE

ELIGIBLITY FOR NDA
1.INDIAN NAVY & INDIAN AIR FORCE: 12th passed with 60% marks from science stream.

2.INDIAN ARMY: 12th passed with with any stream.

AGE LIMIT:
age should be in between 16.5 - 19 years.

Yes you are eligible for NDA(National Defence Academy) being a candidate of 12th commerce.

UPSC(Union Public Service Commerce) conducting this exam every year two times i.e




NDA-I,

NDA-II.

NDA has three wings:

Indian army,

Indian airforce,

Indian navy.

But you are eligible for only army wing because only science stream (i.e PCM subjects) students are eligible for Airforce and Navy.

Important dates for NDA-II;

Date of notification :
05-may-2012,

Last date for the receipt of
application forms : 04-june-2012,

Date of NDA-II Exam : 19-aug-2012.


Eligibility criteria;


The candidate should be complete +2 from a recognised board, but for airforce and navy wing you must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.

Only unmarried male candidate are eligible.

You must be physically fit.

You should be a citizen of india.

Age limits is 16.5 years to 19 years.


Selection process;

Written test,
Interview,
Medical test.

After passing 12th with any stream you can join Indian Army for this you have to qualify the N.D.A Exam

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR N.D.A. & N.A. EXAM.(II), 2012
Date of Notification:-05.05.2012
Last date of receipt of form:- 04.06.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:-19.08.2012 (SUNDAY)
