The minimum eligibility criteria required to appear in JEE examination is completion of 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a Government recognized board. You need to be good at Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects to get good score and rank in JEE examination for getting admission in IIT. The CBSE board syllabus will be best to prepare for JEE examination for getting admission in IIT.

For getting admission in IITs you need to score high in JEE exams , few changes had been made in JEE Advanced 2017 onward which are as follows

>> In rank calculation of JEE mains no weightage to class 12th percentage would be given.
>> Candidate securing 75% in qualifying exam of 12th or in top 20 profile of their board will be eligible for the JEE exams.
>> SC and ST candidate need to get 65% in 12th exam to be eligible for admission in IITs

++ To crack JEE exam i.e to score high in IITs you need to concern mainly on Physics, Chemistry and Maths concepts and theories.
++ Below image describe some important topics in PCM which should be covered and revised before appearing in entrance exam

1. If you want to appear in IIT entrance exam then you have to complete your intermediate with PCM group from a recognized board. Only after that you will be eligible for the entrance exam.

2. As per my knowledge there is no specific percentage criteria for appearing in this exam. You just have to complete your intermediate in science stream.

3. If you want to appear in IIT entrance exam then CBSE board syllabus will be good for you in my opinion.

Thanks

IIT entrance examination is officially known as JEE which refers to Joint Entrance Examination and is held by CBSE once every year.

--> The minimum eligibility criteria required for appearing in same examination for being eligible for admission in CFTIs like IIT, NIT, etc. you must have the qualifications mentioned below :-

* You must have the nationality of India with your age not exceeding 25 years. Age relaxation of 5 years is allowed for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your Class 12th with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as your main subjects from a recognized board of education. Further your overall aggregate in your Class 12th must be at least 75% ( or 65% in case of SC/ST and PWD category candidates ) or that much aggregate that makes you lie among the top 20 percentile candidate of your concerned board.

As far as you are concerned about the syllabus of different boards for the preparation of JEE then I would like to let you know that for all board of education syllabus of JEE is same. Further all board of education follows the syllabus prescribed by NCERT for their higher secondary school degree course and hence the board syllabus does not matters for JEE preparation.

For more details about JEE you can refer to the link www.jeemain.nic.in.
