I am XII passed in Art Faculty. I have want to know how can I join in Merchant Navy? on which post?what is procedure ? when & where i apply?

To join Merchant navy in the two main department, i.e. Navigational field and Engineering department, You need to be from science background. Many institutes offers bachelor's programme in nautical science and marine engineering for merchant navy, but the course demands Physics, chemistry and Maths in 10+2.
There is also a provision of direct entry for both graduates and undergraduates as Deck cadet and junior engineer but they too requires science stream.
So, there is not much scope for arts student in Merchant navy other than joining in the saloon department which includes cooking, laundry service etc.

You better try to continue your studies in the field of your expertise to have a successsful life ahead.

it is quiet difficult for you to do merchant navy .For merchant navy there
is entrance test of IMU you have to clear it .this year they already had conduct there entrance.

The minimum qualification required is a pass in +2 exam with phy, che & maths as subjects. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms & with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness.

Dear friend i want to tell you that there are three processes to get into Merchant Navy.

First is NDA exam which is written exam and you have to clear the exam first for getting call for SSb and there you can opt for Merchant Navy.
Second is CDS it is also written exam but easy as compare to NDA and it also has same process as NDA.
Third is the form which come for graduates or for degree holders fill that form and then you will get call for GD and PI.

One more that is known as technical entries.

You can also look forward for it.

You can join the merchant navy on the class 10 basis.You can join the best institute such as t.S chanakya they will take you through an entrance exam and they will teah you for the nest 2 years or 3years.Then you will be placed to the posts of merchant navy.

The eligibity to enter Merchant navy is10+2 with Physics, Chemistry an Maths.Navigation and Engineering are the two main departments of Merchant Navy for which science background is required.The candidates should pass the medical test and should have good eyesight.There is no scope for arts students in Merchant navy.

minimum qualification required for merchant navy for arts students is that you must have completed your 12th and you can apply for NDA and your age must be below 19 years to sit for NDA exam

The eligibility criteria for admission to undergraduate program in merchant navy is 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For admission to post graduate program in navy one needs to have a graduation in the relevant stream.

Since you are an arts student so i am sorry to say but you are not eligible for joining merchant navy.

to become a merchant navy it is very difficult for a arts student. navy mainly recruit engineer and science student. but for merchant navy there is a examination for arts student. you may try for it. but the examination is very much tough as the competition is very high. best of luck.

Sir, Iam Bsc multimedia & animation student is there any scope in merchant navy as an officer.

Yes arts students are also elgible to merchant navy....GP rating is the basisc training course for joininig in merchant navy..!0 th standard is the baisic qualification..after 36 months of sea service you can be officers / engineers....

sir i cleared my 12th with 69% form commerce side with maths.
but now i am presuming b.a program into my 2nd year.

you are not eligible Merchant Navy after XII passed in Art Faculty.

see, to be a Merchant Navy the criteria which is required is

1.12th with PCM combination science stream.

but you can join Indian navy after graduation.

through upsc exam you can join Indian Navy.
