Indian Police Service entrance exam is conducted by the union public service commission under the civil services examination every year once.. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam. Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.This exam not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree . But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate. In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years. The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years. Also you must be citizen of India. Physical Requirements : I have listed here the physical criteria if you have Qualify in written exam then they arrange the physical test , so beware about the requirement also . Various eligibility requirements for IPS exam are:
-> You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories). -> You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. -> Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IAS and IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form. -> a candidate MUST be a citizen of India Special Physical Requirements for IPS -> Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.) -> Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women. -> Total amount of Myopia should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia should not exceed plus 4.00 D -> Presence of Squint is a disqualification |

IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.
To be eligible for IPS the candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University. He should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate should have good Physical Fitness. There is certain minimum physical requirement for IPS aspiring candidate which shoud be followed strictly. HEIGHT:- For General Male-165cm and Female-150cm For SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm CHEST:- For Male-85cm and for Female-79cm expandable to 5 cm in both the cases. The selection of candidate is through two stages written exam:- CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST - PRELIMINARY EXAM comprises of objective type questions. CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM comprises of subjective type questions from syllabus as prescribed. The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service exam is allowed to sit for the CSAT exam. The candidate selected from CSAT exam is called for the Main written exam and the candidate selected out of the Main exam is called for the final selection through Personal Interview followed by Physical Fitness Test. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IPS:
Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Number of Attempts Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. Physical fitness criteria for IPS- Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.
