what is required qualification for ips exam
i want to become ips.

As per the union public service commission's guidelines, one must be graduate, in any discipline
minimum age is 21years and maximum age limit is 30 years.

Eligibility for IPS exam:-

1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade..

2.Candidates age should be in between 21-30 years.
For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.

3.Candidate must be physically fit.

4.Candidate should be a citizen of India.

These are the eligibility criteria you need to fulfill.

So, go for the exam.

How to Become IPS Officer :
-------------------------

IPS stands for Indian Police Services and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year and to become IPS Officer you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, this examination is Conducted into 2 stages :

>> Preliminary Examination
>> Main examination

Firstly, You have to cracked the Preliminary examination, Only then you are eligible to appear for Main examination.

Preliminary examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in Preliminary examination and You have to cracked both examination.

Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the Optional Subjects in Main examination and there are 9 papers in Main examination.

Eligibility Criteria :

>> You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University.

>> Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination

>> Your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

>> There is No Minimum percentage is required in graduation to apply for Civil services examination.

Number of Attempts :
------------------

>> For General Candidates : 4 Chances
>> For OBC Candidates : 7 Chances
>> For SC/ST Candidates : No Limits.

The Notification of UPSC Civil services examination will be published on 04/Feb/2012 and the last date of apply for this examination 05/March/2012 and the Preliminary examination will be held on 20/May/2012.

Indian Police Service

If you are interested to become IPS then you will have to fullfill the eligibility criteria of IPS and to qualify Civil Service exam conducted by the UPSC.

Qualification:- aspirent complete their graduate in any stream from recognised university.

Age limit:- candidate should be between 21 to 30 for general category(relaxation for other catagory).

Attempts:- for general 4 attempts
for obc 7 and no limit for sc/st.

Exam Pattern:- Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, interview.

Hi,

IPS can be expanded as Indian Police Service. To become an IPS officer you must clear an exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

To appear in that exam you must have certain qualifications. They are as follows

1. Your age must be above 21years and below 30years.

2. You must be a graduate of any discipline.

3. Generally you will have 4 chances to appear in the exam.

4. Some physical standards are important for becoming IPS. They are

Height – Male - 165 cm
Female(general also) -145 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses
only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

I.P.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For ST/SC category:- 21-33 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

Final year students are also applicable.

Age Limit:

1. General category student:- 21-30 years.
