You can choose the stream of your choice. There is no restriction on this. You need to have graduation degree to appear for this test. You should also be over 21years. You can appear for the test when you are in the final year. You should start preparing immediately especially in the general knowledge area.

To become an IPS you need to be a Graduate in any stream.And appear for Indian Civil Service Examination (conducted by UPSC http://www.upsc.gov.in),This exam is three round like Prelimaniry,Main and Personal interview including Group discussion.After medical examination you have to send for training.

You can choose any stream as per your choice.There is not any restriction about the stream of your graduation degree which is required for IPS exam conducted by UPSC.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. You can choose any of the stream after class 10th to appear for IPS exam. There is no requirement for the specific stream for IPS exam.
Exam for IPS is same as the exam for IAS exam, conducted by UPSC. To appear for this exam you at least need to be graduate and must be holding a degree in any field. Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years. |

You can choose any stream as being an IPS officer doesn't depend on the stream you choose. You can for any but you have to be a graduate for writing the civil services exam before becoming an IPS officer. You can start preparing for creating a strong base on General Knowledge. You have to choose specific papers for the exam which can assume now and accordingly you can choose science arts or commerce.

IPS exam is conducted by Upsc. The eligibility for this exam is to have a bachelor degree from a recognized university. There isn't any kind of restrictions to opt any particular stream. So you are free to choose whatever you wish to do.

IPS:- Indian Police Service is an Post which can be get by giving the exam of Upsc.Upsc conducts the cvil service examination every year for the various post like IAS/IPS/IFS etc. This examination completes in the following three stages:-
Preliminary Mains Interview One has to clear all the above stages to be succeed in this exam. For being eligible in this exam, it is must to have a bachelor degree in any Stream from a recognized university with good percentile. Also the appearing aspirant's age must lie in between 21 tear to 30 year to be completely eligible for this exam.There is relaxation by 3 years and 5 years for obc and SC/ST/PD category respectively. There is not any percentage bar to score any particular minimum percentage. However if you will score more than 55% marks in your aggregate than it will be beneficial for you in future in various competitive exams. |

I have two options in maths the first concept is basic or second is standard.
I want to become ips officer what concept will i choose, if i choose basic i can't choose maths in 11th or 12th or if i choose standard it is compulsary to take maths in 11th or 12 th so what i choose |

you should start preparing for UPSC from 6th . after 10th i just wanna advice you that you should take PCM or arts . this suject would help you and you must have bachelor degree.
