Pliz suggest me which stream do i take after class 10 to apply for upsc exam.i wan to be an ips officer.for example if i take arts stream which subject will i take as a major subject

First thing is that if you ant to appear for IPS(Indian Police Services) Exam that is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) you are not eligible now for appearing in this exam.For appearing in this exam,you will require to meet certain eligibility conditions.These are :-

Educational qualification
~You should have a Bachelor degree from recognized university in any discipline.

Thus if you want to spent less time in study and more time for preparations then you should take Arts stream in Inter as well as in Graduation.
You can do Honors in English/Mathematics in Graduation level.

Age
~Your minimum age should be 21 years for appearing in this exam.
~For this exam age of candidate should not be above 30 years.

Attempt Limitations There is Restrictions for appearing in this exam.Thus if you belong from the General/OBC Category then you can appear only limited number of times.Its details are :-
~For General Category - 4 times.
~For OBC Category - 7 times.

Selection Process

~Preliminary Exam.
~Mains Exam.
~Personal Interview.

Thus from now onwards you should start preparation for preliminary exam.You should start preparation as per its syllabus structure.Its details are :-

PAPER I

• Indian Politics and Its Governments.
• Economic and Social development.
• Current events of national and International issues.
• History of India and Indian National Movement.
• Environmental Ecology.
• General Science.

PAPER II

• Interpersonal and Communication skills.
• English Comprehension.
• Decision making and problem solving.
• General mental ability.
• Elementary Mathematics.
• Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
