Sir please tell me which stream is good for ias preparation after 10th?

There are no such suitable courses for IAS. Graduates in any subjects can apply for IAS. You can go with any stream that interests you. Anyway, courses related to history or geography will be useful. You can go with humanities/arts after 10th.

i am a student of 12th commerce and want to prepare for IAS. can you please suggest me some ways to how can i prepare myself for IAS from class 12th . and which course i should join after 12th as i am confused between LAW nd b.com please tell me which course woulde be beneficial for IAS ?

There is no specific education to purse after 10th to become an IAS officer.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and to become an IAS officer one has to get through the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year

The aspiring candidate for IAS should have first completed Graduation Degree in any stream in which he is comfortable.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

First of all, IAS examination can be written by any graduate irrespective of any percentage you got, keeping in these mind, let us see some of the criteria for IAS exam first.

Eligibility:-

>>must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

>>Also you must be a graduate from any recognised university.

>>number of times you can attempt IAS Exam is 4 for general category while for OBC,PH it is 7 years, while for SC/ST it is unlimited.

>> A citizen of India, obviously you are a citizen of India.


Regarding choice of subjects:-


General studies is common for all, so while selecting for optional papers, you should select carefully which you have interest, materials for that subject must be available also, here are some of them, but these combinations are not allowed by UPSC:

Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration

Commerce and Management

Anthropology and Sociology

Maths and Statistics

Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science

Management and Public Administration

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science

Any two branches of engineering.

Combination of two literatures.

>>Also History and geography seemed to be scoring in this area, History is good if you can spend more than 4-5 hours everyday.
You can also take geography if you can spend at least 3-4 hrs every day. Pub Ad, more than 3 hours etc. So, the bottomline is take a subject of your interest and must be useful in your future so that scoring is easy for you.

Im in 10th too n as far as ive heard, many advisors told me that since humanities is an comparitively easier stream so, its better to opt for it than science (incase u have an aim for IAS) ... but it depends person to person based on their subject of interest... just see which subjects ur good at n go accordingly

Hey friend,

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

It is not possible for you to join in IAS,as with having completed 10th due to the reason that you are ineligible as per the Education Qualification.

The Education qualification for the IAS exam is that the candidate appearing for the exam must have completed a Degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

With the education qualification for the IAS Exam,there are certain other criteria which you need to satisfy and they are:

>> The candidate appearing for the exam must be a Citizen of India

>> The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate must have 21-30 years of age

>> There are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidate.

If you satisfy all these above criteira then you can apply for the IAS exam

IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country.

India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria :-

A.)Educational Qualification:-

The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.


B.)Age Factor:-

1.> For general category :-

21-30 years and can attempt 4 times.

2.>For SC/ST :-

21-35 years ,and there is no limitation .

3.> For the OBC:-

21-33 years and can attempt 7 times.

>> Maximum 7 attempts for general candidates

Paper Pattern for IAS exam :-

HUMANITIES SUBJECTS ARE QUITE RELEVANT TO THE IAS PREPARATION...

IAS is a exam conducted by UPSC . The syllabus for IAS exam generally covers all subjects . Syllabus of IAS exam includes topics related to languages, social studies ,science and maths .

So Languges and social studies are the subjects which can be understood by self study .

But maths and science are the subjects which have thier own ways , proper method ,or step by step understanding through reasoning for stuying .
So these subjects need proper channel or guidance at every stage .
So to make your concepts clear in These subjects it is better to study in science stream after 10th.

I appreciate your interest towards IAS and to serve the country. Only top brains in India are being absorbed into Civil Services like IAS.

You should have strong grip and dedication over the subjects and you should be able to put your best efforts towards the completion of syllabus. Then only you can fulfill your dream of becoming IAS officer.

There are many of the candidates who apply for civil services without having strong preparation and they will not get through the selection procedure and finally they would get disappointed.

The reason why I am telling this is, this will not happen in your case.

The minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates in order to become IAS Officer is by completion of Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation also can apply for this Exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

The selection procedure would involve
CSAT Exam
Main Exam
Interview

You can opt for the stream in which you are interested but better it would be if at least one subject of your stream is there in the list of optional subjects for Main Exam.

Then you can easily crack this Exam.
