Re: What is the minimum percentage required to get admission?
First of all it seems you have missed out on providing suitable details in your query. It is unclear of what you need the minimum criteria and where exactly are you trying to take admission. My post is divided into two parts. Please see if it helps you in any way.
Since you have talked about admissions, I assume two things here: PART I. You have just passed out of your Class 12th Boards schooling education and are now seeking admission in some good graduation college/university. Here are the details regarding the same. Once you pass out of your school, the graduation streams open up for you to. It all depends on what you have studied in your 11th and 12th based on which you can choose a graduation course. 1. If you have Science as your stream, you can take up almost any branch of studies further. Some of the common studies that students usually take up/prefer are B.Tech (Engineering), Medical (Requires Biology as one of the subjects in your 12th boards), CA, etc. 2. If you had Commerce/Arts, you have graduation streams such as B.Com, B.A and many other specializations respectively. You may choose whatever interests you. 3. A major and common criteria that almost every college asks if that you must have scored at least 60% in your 12th board examination. If not, you are sure to have a tough time ahead. 4. Last but not the least, you may even have to sit for entrance exams like IIT JEE, AIEEE, AIPMT, etc and crack them with good scores to fetch admission in some top colleges across the nation. PART 2. I assume that you are a working professional/just passed out of your graduation and seeking post graduation admission: Well, in this case the doors are open for M.Tech/MA/MBA usually. These are the most prominent streams that account for most of the post graduation study in India. 1. Again you must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in your graduation so that you can get admission for PG. 2. It is also true that for each of them again you have to sit for an entrance similar to what was required during the time of seeking graduation college. 3. CAT is the top exam for MBA others being IIFT, CMAT, XAT, SNAP, NMAT, MAT, etc. Similarly, GATE is for M.Tech studies and so on. Last edited by ranjeet250490; 9th April 2015 at 01:14 AM.
