Examination - Notifications - Archival - Civil Services The full notification of Civil Services Exam will appear. Indian Police Service (IPS) is a part of the above exam. You have to be a graduate and meet other conditions like age, nationality and physical standards as set out in the notification. Preliminar exam has two papers and only the successful candidates are invited to appear the Main. In the Mains, four papers are common to all, one language paper is as per choice and four other papers from a set of two subjects to be chosen by you (two papers from each subject). please note that for IPS or for that matter for any other service, there is no specific restriction that only the prescribed subject needs to be selected. In other words, you are given full liberty to select the subjects irrespective of the Service chosen. The next round of notification will be released on 4th Feb and the prelim will be on 20th May. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam . Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam. But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate. In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years. The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years. Also you must be citizen of India.
