Bachelor degree in any subject is the basic qualification required for the position of IPS Officer. Upper age limit is 30 years. Apart from this, you must qualify civil services exam. Physical efficiency test is also conducted for the position of IPS Officer. One can attempt the test at most 4 times.

If you want to become an IPS officer then you have to crack Civil Services examination.

Civil Services examination is conducted by UPSC and you must have the required qualification and age to become eligible for it.

Graduation in any discipline is the required qualification for Civil Services examination.

Age should be between 21 to 30 years for those who belong to General category candidates.

5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC is available.

You have to produce required documents to get the age relaxation during verification otherwise you will not get age relaxation.

Selection Procedure:

-Preliminary Examination

-Mains Exam

-Personality Test

There will be medical examination for IPS cadre and you must have the required physical fitness then only you will be considered for the post.
