After completion of 12th standard you can join in defense sector through NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidate's who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19.5 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

After 12th, candidate can apply for NDA exams in order to get officer's job in Defence field. Candidate will be given officer post after clearing NDA exam.

Education Qualification :
Indian Army : Candidate must have to pass 12th in any stream from any recognised board.
Indian Navy and Air Force : candidate must have to pass 12th with Physics and Mathematics from any recognised board.

There is no minimum percentage criteria.

Age Limit : 16.5 to 19 years.

For becoming officer in defense field after 10+2, you have two options:

1. National Defense Academy entrance exam.

2. Technical Entry Scheme exam.

For NDA, you must be 10+2 passed from a recognized board and your age should be between 16.5-19.5 and must be a unmarried male. This exam is conducted twice every year by UPSC. There is one written test and Service Selection board for final selection of candidates.

For Technical entry scheme, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of PCM percentage of marks and are called for direct SSBs. You can check more details if you are interested at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Being a 12th passed student you have the option of becoming a lieutenant in defense services for which you need to compete NDA examination.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and it is an academy in which one get enrolled by clearing NDA examination. Also students selected for the same are provided necessary education and training after which they are recruited as lieutenant in the defense services. Also NDA has three wings which are Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air force.

The examination is held in two times every year by Union Public Service Commission in two stages which are called as Written examination and Service Selection Board interview respectively.

For appearing in the same examination you need to have the qualifications given below :-

* You must be an Indian unmarried male candidate.

* Your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

* You must hold the physical and mental toughness as per the requirement norms.

* You must have a higher secondary school degree or a degree equivalent to same with any discipline from a recognized institution. But for Indian Navy and Indian Air force your degree must include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as your main subjects.
