Hello Sir,
I want to give UPSC exams.
I am from Mechanical Engineering branch
of B.Tech. I would like to know which are the
posts I can apply in UPSC?

UPSC conduct various exams. List of posts through UPSC exams where you can apply are listed below :


For Civil Service
**IAS
**IPS
**IFS
** IRS etc.

For Indian Engineering Service:
** Indian Railway Services
**Central Engineering Services
**Indian Defence Service of Engineering
** Indain Ordnance Factories Service
** Assistant Executive Engineering
** Indian Naval Armament Services etc.

List of posts available in UPSC for B.tech(mechanical engineers) candidate as below:

1. Indian Railway Services
2. Central Engineering Services
3. Indian Defence Service of Engineering
4. Indain Ordnance Factories Service
5. Assistant Executive Engineering
6. Indian Naval Armament Services etc.
7. Indian police sevice
8. Indian administrative service

Dear through UPSC you can apply for various posts with different cadres, As you said you are a B.Tech Mechanical student then you will have a chance to apply for various posts including with CID, CBI and many other Police recruitments.

~ CDS exam

This exam is to join in Defence services like Army , Navy , Airforce

To join in Navy , your age shouldbe in between 19-22 years only
To join in Airforce , your age shouldbe in between 19-23 years only
To join in Army , your age shouldbe in between 19-24 years only


Selection process is ,

1) Written exam
2) SSB Interview
3) Medical Test
