Yes, you are eligible for writing CDSE.
Any graduate candidate who is medically and mentally fit and wishes to join the defence forces is eligible for CDSE. CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC twice the year in the month of February and October all over India on the same date. The exam is divided into 3 parts. 1. English 2. General Knowledge 3. Mathematics. * For English you should prefer the Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal * For GK portion you need to be in touch with the current affairs and should be good at History and Geography of India. * For mathematics you should concentrate on basic Maths (Upto 10th level) and you can prefer the Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal. |

Re: Eligibility to apply in CDS for B.Sc(Mathematics) student who has completed 12th with Commerce?
You would be eligible for CDS after B.Sc or in he final year of your B.Sc.
Your stream of Intermediate does not matter as all graduates are eligible at least for Army but not so for AirForce and Navy. If you are a male candidate, then with your B.Sc Maths degree you would be eligible for IMA,OTA and AFA. If you are a female candidate you will be eligible for only OTA. Eligibility criteria for the branches of CDS are as follows: IMA- Graduate from any stream and age limit 19-24years.Only male eligible. OTA-Graduate from any stream and age limit 19-25years.Both male and female eligible but higher priority given to females. AFA- Engineering Graduate or Graduate in Maths or Physics and age limit 19-23years.Only males eligible. INA-Engineering graduates are eligible and age limit 19-22years.Only males eligible. You can check complete details of CDS exam, next notification date, previous year papers, previous notifications regarding physical standards etc all details on the website of UPSC at www.upsc.gov.in |
