hello sir,
i am a 12th class student with commerce group. this year am going to pass 12th. i want to apply for IAF examination. would you please suggest me the ways to apply for this exam & procedure & eligibility.

Yeah Sure, you can apply IAF(Indian Air Force) after passing 12th standard. For joining Indian Air Force, You need to appear in NDA(National Defence Academy) entrance Exam which is conducted to recruit candidate in_

NDA entrance is organized by Union Public Service Commission of Indian twice in a year as- NDA I & NDA II


Eligibility for NDA(Indian Air Force):

• You should be 12th passed with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjests from central/state board of education.

• Your Age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

After passing 12th one can apply for Indian Air Force through NDA.

NDA-NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age with good Physical Fitness.

The candidate having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th standard can apply for Indian Air Force and Naval wing of NDA along with Indian Army.

As you are from Commerce stream You can only be eligible to apply for Indian Army wing of NDA.

As after 12th , you are only for NDA entry.Age limit is 16.5-19 years
Educational Qualifications for NDA :

(i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Yes you can join Indian Air Force after completing 12th commerce ,Under TES (Technical Entry Scheme) Exam you are eligible in some of the courses.
Details are given Below,


Indian Air Force :

Airmen in Group 'Y' Trades :

* Candidate must pass Matriculation / Intermediate examination (including 10+2) with a minimum 50% marks and pass marks in English.

Eligibility : unmarried male Indian citizens

Height :

Air men :Minimum 152.5 cm.

Mechanical Driver : 165 cm (162.5 cm for candidates from Uttaranchal and North Eastern States) with minimum leg length of 99 cm.

Ground Training Instructor : 167 cm (162.5 cm for candidates belonging to Uttaranchal and North East)

IAF (Police) : 175 cm.

Chest : Minimum expansion of 5 cm. Weight Corresponding to height and age.

Vision : Unaided 6/36, corrected with glasses 6/36, corrected with glasses 6/9 for each eye

For IAF (Security & Police) unaided vision is 6/6 .

Hearing : Able to hear forced whisper at 6 minutes with each ear separately.

Written Test : Candidates must qualify both in English & Mathematical Reasoning papers.

* The qualified candidates have to run 1.6 km to be completed in maximum of 8 minutes.
* Candidates qualifying in PFT have to undergo medical examination by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF Medical Standard.

When will be the TES 2012 .and when will be the application forms will be available.and i have completed my 12th recently and result is still to come.so can i apply?

You want to serve the nation, by joining Indian air force, which is really appreciable.
In order to join the Indian air force (IAF), you must have to clear the NDA (NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY) exam, conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION.

Through this exam, one can apply for all the combatant branches of the Indian army,..
i.e.,
INDIAN AIR FORCE (IAF)
INDIAN NAVY ACADEMY (NA)
INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY (IMA)..

If you want to apply for the INDIAN AIR & NAVAL FORCE,. you must have pysics & maths in 12th, also you must have scored at least 60% in 12th (aggregate).
Otherwise, you can only apply for the Indian military academy (IMA).

Exam pattern-




The age limit for the exam is 16.51-19 years.
Remind that, there is not any kind of age limit relaxation is applicable for any reserved category.

You must have Indian nationality with marital status unmarried.

Only male candidates are eligible for this exam.
