The candidates should be over 150 cm in height for studying and working in merchant navy profession. The candidates with less than 42 kg weight and height below 150 cm will be rejected. So you should be over 150 cm in height and be over 42 kg in weight to be eligible for merchant navy. There are various courses in the merchant navy field like B.Sc Nautical Science, B.E Marine Engineering, B.Tech Marine Engineering, Diploma in Nautical Science etc. After completion of merchant navy course the candidates can work as Deck Officer, Technical Officer, Engineer, Catering and Hospitality Crew etc.

Height Required to join Merchant Navy:

There are certain Physical standards required in order to join Merchant Navy. Height required to join Merchant Navy are given below.

>> Minimum Height required - 167 cms

>> Minimum Chest Required - 77 cms

>> Minimum Chest Required - 82 cms (Expanded)

You can join Merchant Navy after completion of 12th Class in 10+2 pattern. You can join Merchant Navy after completion of 12th for Deck cadet posts. You are required to apply for the recruitment when this recruitment notification is released by Navy Department.
