hi..
in the merchant navy field the most important factor is the eye sight, you should not be an color blind most important of all they check the color blindness very strictly and reject out rightly the candidates having color blindness, also the candidate should be in good shape physically and does not have any diseases at the time of joining, also the candidate have to pass an sea related medical fitness test |

Yes you can join merchant navy after engineering.
Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai is a institute which offers training to BE/BTech to become a merchant navy officer. The course duration is one year and it is a pre sea training which is given to engineers enabling them to become junior engineers on deck. The eligibility for this course is a BE/BTech degree in mechanical engineering or naval architecture. |
