In order to do software engineer you have to be a graduate or an engineering student from a recognized university.

If you go for B.Tech, it will be better for you to become a software engineer and if you select CSE stream it will help you to become a good programmer.

Before or while pursuing graduation you have to learn some important computer languages like C, C++, Java, Dotnet, Php, J2EE to become a software engineer.
