Can I get admission for BSc(Agriculture) in Calcutta University being an NIOS student? Percentage required in 12th to get admission?


Hello Everyone,
I am studying 12th from NIOS Board. So, after passing class 12th from NIOS Board can I get BSc(Agriculture) Calcutta University? If yes, then how much minimum percentage should I score in 12th?

Yes, you can get admission in BSc(Agriculture) in Calcutta University being an NIOS student. Candidate must have passed 12th from any recognised board. NIOS is well recognised by HRD Ministry of Indian Government.
Candidate must have secured more than 55% marks in 12th in order to apply for admission in B.Sc (Agriculture).

Firstly Calcutta University does not offer Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, but offers Post Graduation programme that is M.Sc in Agricultural Science from Institute of Agricultural Science under University of Calcutta situated at Ballygunge. However, graduate, post graduate even PhD programmes on agriculture are offered by Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vidyalaya. It is an institution that solely deals with agriculture, so I would suggest you to check out this option as it is an Institute dedicated to this particular subject only. NIOS certificate is accepted everywhere, so you don't worry about it. If you can score higher percentage then it would be easier for you to get through these.
