Company Profile: It was formed in the year 1965. It has the responsibility of formulating the programs of govt. for providing ports and harbour structures in Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands. It is currently working on reconstruction against Tsunami. It also maintains cargo systems, ship repair facilities etc.

Job profile: The junior engineers are required to work on infrastructure, ship maintenance, and other facilities. They may or may not stay at the port. They will be given the required training in their specialized field. The candidates will work in Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.

Eligibility: Only Indians can apply.
The age of a candidate must not exceed 32 years. However, relaxation is available as per the govt. rules.

Education Qualification: A candidate must posses a degree in mechanical/civil/electrical engineering or a diploma in mechanical/civil/electrical engineering from a recognized university. A candidate must have an experience of 2 years in running different types of machines (for mechanical), in civil construction works (for civil) and in electrical works (for electrical).

No. of posts: The total no. of posts are 51 (SC – 08, ST – 04, OBC – 13 and UR – 26) which are divides as follows – Civil – 36, Mechanical – 14 and Electrical – 05.

Pay Scale: The junior engineers will be absorbed in the pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 plus a Grade pay of Rs. 4200 will be given.
