National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) Papers
National Board of Higher Mathematics undertakes entrance test for candidates in order to admit them in Research Scholarship Programmes. The maximum marks for the question paper is 40 and the duration of the paper is 150 minutes. The Question paper is divided into five sections namely Section I or Algebra, Section II or Analysis, Section III or Topology, Section IV or Applied Mathematics and Section V or Miscellaneous. As far the names of each of the section go, they contains questions related to them, for instance Section I contains questions only from Algebra, Section II contains questions from Analysis, and so forth on.
Each of the section has ten questions and each section carries a maximum of eight marks. There are both Multiple Type Questions as well as Short and Long answer based questions in the paper. Section I, II and III are the one which contains Multiple Type Questions, which are nine out often in total number each. Candidates are advised to thoroughly go through the paper and then answer. They are also advised to go through different Mock Questions prior to the entrance test to build up a complete set of confidence and practice.
