Aspirants who wish to secure a career in Income tax department can attend the qualifying examination conducted by the staff selection commission. Candidates need to be well prepared in areas like General English, General awareness; quantitative aptitude etc. Candidate’s knowledge in computer along with his typing speed is also assessed during the selection process.

Qualifying Examination for Tax Assistant Exam Entrance Exam

Tax assistant exam is conducted by the staff selection commission. The basic eligibility criteria needed for a candidate to attend the exam is graduation from a university recognized by the Staff Selection Commission.  Candidates who pass the examination conducted by SSC are placed in Income Tax and Central Excise Tax Department. The candidate applying for the post need to have basic knowledge in computer with typing speed of 8000  key words per hour.

Age Qualification for Tax Assistant Exam Entrance Exam

Like any other exam tax assistant exam also has certain age limit for the candidates. The candidates should be 21 years of age. Those candidates above 27 years of age are not considered eligible. The government has granted age relaxation for candidates of certain categories for attending the examination.

Who can apply for Tax Assistant Exam Entrance Exam?

All Indian citizens with graduation from a recognized university are eligible to apply. The candidate satisfying the following criteria can also apply for the Tax assistance Entrance Exam.

  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee settled in India
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated to other countries

Those candidates other than Indian citizen should get an eligibility certificate from the government to attend the exam conducted by the SSC.

Eligibility for the Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO for Tax Assistant Exam Entrance Exam

Unlike other exams conducted by the SSC, candidates other than Indian citizen can also attend the tax assistant examination. They should get an eligibility certificate from the government to prove that they are also eligible to attend the examination

The candidate applying for the exam should send their completely filled application to the Regional Office of the SSC. The application should contain all relevant details along with a central recruitment fee stamp for 100 rupees. Candidates belong to the reservation category are exempted from paying the prescribed amount as fee. The candidate should write the name of the post, category code, name of the examination centre chosen by the candidate and category on the left side corner of the application form in capital letters.
