A branch of law that is concerned with the discrepancy between organizations or individuals is called as Civil Law. In these cases, compensation will be granted to the aggrieved party. Civil cases are usually implemented by private parties. After finishing their studies, lawyers will be able to practice under leading attorneys and after some time begin their own practice. The remuneration of attorneys will depend upon their familiarity with the field, the category of cases they handle and the client who engages them.

Qualifying Exam

There are many colleges in our country that provide courses in law. Students who wish to a Civil Lawyer must write an entrance exam after finishing their graduation in law. The entrances exams are carried out in the state or in the national level. In addition to this, a few other universities carry out their individual entrance exams. Some of the national wide exams in law are the All India Admission Test, Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test and the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). A few other exams that are organized by the Universities of Law are Gujarat National Law University Entrance Examination, the National Law Institute University Entrance Examination and the National Law University (NLU) Entrance Test. Students also have an option to appear in either The Government of Kerala Law Entrance Examination or the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences exam too.

Who is eligible to apply?

An individual primarily needs to obtain a graduate degree in law. A pass in class 12 is the qualification criteria required to apply for the graduate course. He/she can then go for LLM and select civil law as specialization.

How to prepare for exam and interview?

Some of the main qualities a person seeking to become a civil case lawyer are good written & oral communication skills, patience and the ability to reason logically. Also excellent concentration powers, self confidence and courage in addition to good memory will help them go a long way. On top of all this, it is also required for them to be well read. Another important thing required for them is to keep up with the up to date news and other information about law. At the time of the exam, the students must be well prepared in the subject. Practicing on mock questions will help them develop confidence and become familiar with the pattern of the exam. At the time of the interview, the students must answer truthfully without any bias.
