West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited applications for the position of Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Assistant (Group C). Candidates having passed madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent are eligible to apply. Recruitment of suitable candidates are made through a written test consisting of objective and descriptive model questions.

Eligibility Criteria for West Bengal SSC LDC/Assistant (Group C) Recruitment

Those who have passed madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent are eligible to apply. They should have elementary knowledge in computer operation with adequate tying skills. Applicant must be able to deliver 35 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Bengali. Qualified degree/diploma/certificate in computers must be obtained from a reputed organization within a period of six months. Lower age limit of the applicant is 18 years. Those below 40 years of age are only eligible to apply. Five year relaxation in age will be given for SC/ST candidates.

Recruitment Process for West Bengal SSC LDC/Assistant (Group C) Profile

Recruitment is made through a written test. There will be two papers for the written test, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I comprises of 100 questions for 100 marks (each question carrying1 mark). Questions for Paper-I are asked from the following topics.

• English Language
• General Studies
• Arithmetic Ability

The sessions of English language and arithmetic ability are asked for 30 marks each and General Studies for 40 marks. Duration for this paper is 1hour 30 minutes.

Paper II includes descriptive type questions, asked under two groups, Group A and Group B. Group A and Group-B consists of questions on English language and Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali respectively. Marks given for Paper II are 100. Time given to answer this paper is 1 hour.
