Application Process for GATE 2014
The notification for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 has issued very recently. Candidates interested to attend the exam can make interactions with GATE office through an online interface, ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS)’. This interface can be accessed from the website of the respective Zonal GATE Offices or the institute organizing GATE 2014. Through GOAPS, aspirants can make online registration. Application fee payment can be done via online or offline mode.
Main Steps in GATE Application Process 2014
Candidates can make interactions with GATE office with the help of an online interface, ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS)’. This interface can be accessed from the website of the respective Zonal GATE Offices. It is also possible to access GOAPS from website of the institute organizing GATE 2014. Using these interface aspirants can make the following actions.
- Make Registration
- Fill in the online application form
- Upload photograph and signature
- Payment of Application Fee
- Check Application Status
- Contact the Zonal GATE Offices for any queries/problems
- Download Admit Card
- Candidate can view their responses, marks and GATE score
Registration
Initial registration can be done by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password. GOAPS password is the password given by the candidate during enrolment. After successful enrolment, candidates are given with a GOAPS Enrolment ID. GOAPS Enrolment ID and password should be used for further login. Online application filling must be started by making the following documents ready.
- Personal information
- Communication Address
- Details of Qualifying Degree
- GATE papers
- GATE Examination Centers
- Scanned Photograph and Signature
- Details of ID proof
Application form must be filled with at most care, as minor mistakes in filling the application form may cause the rejection of the same. While filling application form, candidates must select the mode of fee payment, online or offline.
Fee Payment
Application fee payment can be done either through online or offline mode. Net banking facility can be used for online fee payment. Offline fee payment can be done using fee challan. Application fee amount is as follows.
- Male Candidates (General/OBC) – Rs.1500/-
- Women Candidates of any category — Rs.1500/-
- Other Candidates (General/OBC) 1500/-
- SC / ST / PwD candidates – Rs.750/ -
Fee payment through net banking facility can be done through candidate’s bank of choice. Offline fee payment can be made through branches of Syndicate bank or State Bank of India. It can be done after 2 days of online registration.
The printed copy of the application form along with all supporting documents should reach the zonal office of the GATE before last date. Printed applications must be posted through registered or speed post.
