These days most of the exams which ask for class 12th minimum criteria, have started accepting diploma of 3 years duration too as 12th equivalent.

There is no doubt diploma is more than class 12th, therefore, nobody can deny you your due.

Look, Diploma is not equivalent to 12th standard in every aspects.
It is mainly dependant on the type of requirements. In many of the fields both Diploma and 12th standard is regarded for the respective requirement. On the other hand, only class 12th is required in the rest of the fields. So, it all depends upon the situation.
