Re: Eligibility to appear in UPSC exam for Diploma Mechanical student?
The minimum educational qualification required to appear in UPSC examination is completion of Bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised university. Only for NDA examination which is conducted by UPSC, 12th standard passed candidates are eligible to appear. Since, you have not completed Bachelor's degree course, being a Diploma holder, you are not eligible to appear in UPSC examination.

If you are talking about UPSC civil services exam then you are not eligible for it because it requires graduation degree in any discipline.
If you are talking about UPSC SCRA exam then surely you can apply for it being a diploma in mechanical engineering holder. Just make sure that age is between 17 to 21 years. |

Under Graduation is not considered as education Qualification for UPSC examination. As,Diploma is considered to be an Under Graduation course, you cannot apply for it.
All the Graduates of any stream are eligible to appear for the examination. So,it is suggestible to complete your B.Tech or B.E to apply for the UPSC examination. You can also do open degree if you cannot continue your study with Engineering. |

Re: Eligibility to appear in UPSC exam for Diploma Mechanical student?
UPSC conducts many examination so it is tough to give you eligibility for all examination.
But I think you are either interested in NDA or Civil Service Examination. But you are not eligible to appear for any examination. As for NDA examination diploma candidates are not eligible where as for Civil Service examination minimum required qualification is graduation degree. So, you have to pursue graduation degree to appear for examination. To have more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: Eligibility to appear in UPSC exam for Diploma Mechanical student?
Not much opportunities available for Diploma candidates under UPSC. Since UPSC mainly focused on graduation completed students some times 10+2 completed candidates.
But No 10+3 pattern students. But you can try in your technical side. Or else if you want to go for further studies then definitely B.Tech and M.Tech is the main courses after completion of diploma. With graduation you will be eligible to apply for UPSC Exams. |
