Re: UPSC Civil Services Exams Eligibility with Gap Years in Graduation
hi friend,
There is no standard set by UPSC regarding the time taken to complete the bachelor degree programme. So, if you are a graduate, you are eligible for civil service examination. The minimum eligible age for general candidate is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Relaxation of age for candidate belonging to OBC category is 3 years and for candidate belonging to SC/ST category is 5 years. Civil Service examination is conducted every year by UPSC(union public service commission). Candidate needs to face three phases of the examination. 1. Preliminary examination-conducted during the second half of may. In the preliminary exam, you will have to write two papers. General studies Optional Paper Following is the list of optional subject Psychology, Agriculture ,Botany, Commerce, Economics, Geography, IndianHistory ,Law, Civil Engineering ,Mathematics ,Mechanical Engineering Medical Science, Philosophy ,Physics ,Electrical Engineering ,Political Science ,Geology ,Public Administration, Sociology, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science ,Chemistry , Statistics . After qualifying preliminary examination, you will need to appear for 2. Main examination- conducted during the month of oct/nov In the main exam, you will have to appear for the following subjects Modern Indian Language, General English, Essay, General Studies and optional subjects. After successful performance in the main exam, you will be called for an interview. For further information, please refer to UPSC website. thanks |

sorry you cannot eligible for 2013 but possible for 2012
as per upsc norms
the person under general category can appear for upsc exams from 21 to 30 years old. IE... the candidate should not complete 30 years as on august 1st of that year you are going to appear for the preliminary exam. As per your date of birth you born in june month 1983,so as on 2013 august 1st you completed 30 years, which will not satisfy the needs of upsc norms.in case of 2012 you could be 29 years old as on june and could not completed 30 years. so you have only one chance to write the exam in general category ie in the year of 2012 you can appear for the 1st stage of exam. good luck [email protected] |
