As you are a Graduate B.Tech Engineer in CSE, you are eligible both for IAS and IES.
IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer you have to appear and crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. IES- INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE, th exam for which conducted by UPSC once every year for appointment in the top technical post in the Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication Dept. under Central Govt. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National Having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The selection is through written test based on the subject from Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication stream only followed by Personal Interview. Yes shore you are eligible to apply IAS and IES examinations. There two are conducted by the upsc once in a year. Eligibility criteria for IAS: Graduation completed students from any recognised university, final year students may also be eligible. Age limits is 21 years to 30 years Candidate should be a citizen of india. Eligibility criteria for IES: Graduation from any recognised university in any of the following discipline Civil Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Mechanical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. if you have completed your degree in b.tech from CSE trade then you are eligible for the IAS exam . But you are not eligible for IES exam because the IES exam is conducted on the following branches of engineerings: 1.Mechanical Engineering(ME) 2.Civil Engineering(CE) 3.Electrical communication and Engineering(ECE) 4.Electrical Engineering(EE) so you can apply for IAS exam the eligiblity for the exam is: (i) Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories) (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Since you are BTech in CSE
IES You are not eligible for IES conducted by UPSC. Eligibility of IES: Only -EC -EE -MECHANICAL -CIVIL branches of engineering students can apply. IAS IAS officers are the backbone of Indian Govt. All important daily affairs of the govt are handled by an IAS officer including framing & implementation of policy. Therefore if any irregularities occur they are answerable to Parliament & State Legislature. IAS officers are recruited through Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC. Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam -You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute. -You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year. -UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage. -Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years. -You must be a citizen of India. |

Yes My dear friend, A B.Tech CSE candidate can appear for IAS and IES examination both For IAS examination The candidate need to be a graduate and he should not carry any active backlogs For IES examination An engineering student can appear.But all streams are not eligibel for this examination But you are eligible for IES examination. hey dear
u are not eliglible for both IES and IAS through cse branch but can give the IAS through the other subjects such as history, poltics, and many more but cse is not in the IAS subjects. I don't understand why the true informations are not given in the above comments . u can check the list of IAS subjects for official website of UPTU..........and ony the ce me ee and ece students are eliglible for IES.................
