Which bachelor degree will be suitable in accordance with IAS? Preferable coaching and preparation required?

Which bachelor degree will be suitable in accordance with IAS? Whether it is preferable to take coaching for IAS along with college? What is the preparation required for clearing IAS? What are the qualities to be an IAS Officer?

To appear in the Civil services exam, a candidate must have done graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks from recognised University. It would be better for you to prepare and start your preparation right from the first year of your graduation. If you can afford for coaching then you can take side by coaching also. You can prepare at home also you just need to clear your basics, update yourself with current affairs and knowledge with the help of newspapers and Pratiyogita Darpan magazines. If you are seeking for the advice in which stream you should persue graduation then personally I would like to suggest you to go for Bachelor in Arts degree course. This stream will be helpful for you in your preparation as the load of studies is lesser in comparison to other streams.

Candidates who clear all stages of Civil Services examination are eligible to become Indian Administrative Services officer. Qualities to become IAS officer is that you must be hard working, punctual, consistent and determined towards your goal.

Civil Services examination is considered to be the toughest examination of India. The first stage is Preliminary exam which is qualifying and those who clear it become eligible for mains and again those who clear mains exam, become eligible for interview. Every year for 1000-1200 seats, more than 5-6 lacs candidates apply.

You can pursue your bachelor's degree in any stream as per your interest, the eligibility criteria is that candidates from all disciplines are eligible for this exam. No specific stream has any particular advantage. It is better if you take your desirable stream in bachelor's degree.

First stage before joining any good coaching institute is that you must complete NCERT books of social science and science and then join coaching institute in final year of bachelor's degree. You must select your optional subject very wisely. You need to be consistent with your studies and revise more at frequent intervals of time.

Yes, if you think you can manage both of your course studies as well as preparation no doubt you must join coaching classes for preparation.

Civil Services examination which is among toughest examination is not an easy task to qualify in it without better preparation. So, you need better preparation with proper guidance which will be offered by coaching classes or your senior who is preparing for it.

There is no any specified course in degree so that candidates after pursuing course will qualify in entrance examination. So, you are in no boundation of selection of any specific course.

There is no extra qualities to appear and qualify in examination as you require only determination, dedication and devotion to your studies. For more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.
