Hello sir, I have passed 10th exam and want to apply for Loco Pilot exam. Can a 10th passed student apply for Loco Pilot exam? Educational qualification and eligibility criteria for it?

According to my knowledge it is compulsory to have a degree of intermediate along with a technical degree to become a loco pilot.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:-

Candidate must be a holder of intermediate degree from any of the recognized school or college.
Candidate must have a technical degree of at least one year course.
Candidate age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 28 years.
Candidate must have at least 60% aggregate in their intermediate exams. This is required for general candidate.

For recruitment as Loco Pilot in Indian Railway the required qualification to appear for RRB examination is :-

Candidate must have passed ITI or Diploma degree in electrical, mechanical or diesel from a recognised university.

So, after 10th you have to pursue the course and after completion you will be eligible to appear for examination conducted by RRB for final recruitment. For more information about examination visit at www.rrb.gov.in.

The examination is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board for recruitment as Loco Pilot. The required qualification to appear for examination is candidate must have passed ITI or have diploma degree.

So, you have to take admission in diploma or in ITI course for appearing in Loco Pilot examination.

=> For loco pilot examination candidate must have passed 12th class from a recognized board of education.

=> Also if you have ITI and Diploma degree then you are applicable for Assistant Loco Pilot Exam.

=> The age of candidate must be in between 21 to 30 years.

=> As per my knowledge, you are not eligible for Loco Pilot examination on the basis of 10th class. If you have passed 10th class and IIT then you are eligible for loco pilot examination.

10th standard candidates are not eligible for Assistant Loco Pilot exam.

Those candidates who have completed diploma and ITI course from a recognized University are eligible for Assistant Loco Pilot exam.

Age criteria:-

Minimum age =20 years
Maximum age =30 years
