Being a student of B.Tech program, you can definitely appear for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) because as per the guidelines of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, students who have passed +2 level of examination are eligible to take the Common Proficiency Test, regardless of their stream and percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. So, even qualifying +2 level of examination in science stream and having scored 56%, you will be considered eligible to register for the Common Proficiency Test and pursue Chartered Accountancy course.

Duration of Chartered Accountancy course:

The Chartered Accountancy course comprise of six stages and the minimum duration of each stage is as follows:
  • Common Proficiency Course: Two Months
  • Integrated Professional Competence Course: Nine Months
  • Artcleship Training: Three Years and Six Months
  • Final Exam: Can be taken after completion of three years of Artcileship training.
  • Information Technology Training: 100 Hrs.
  • Management and Communication Skill: Fifteen Days

For further information about Chartered Accountancy course, refer to the official website of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
