Sir/Madam, I have secured 68% marks in my 10th Board exam. My aim is to join Indian Navy. So, with this percentage of marks, I can join Indian Navy or not? Please let me know about this as soon as possible. Thank you!

NDA is National Defence Academy and it is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

The eligibility to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in 12th from a recognised board.

The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years and only male candidates are eligible to appear in examination.

The examination is conducted in two stages as Written and SSB. So, you can start preparation for examination but not eligible to apply for it now.

Indian Navy can be joined through NDA after 12th from PCM and there is no requirement of any percentage of marks criteria in any level of education.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy, the entrance examination is conducted by UPSC twice every years to join Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

The eligible candidate wishing to join Indian Navy of NDA, must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with PCM from a recgnized board within the age of 16.5 to 19.5 years with good physical and mental fitness.

So, first you complete your Higher Secondary then you are eligible for Indian Navy.

The essential criteria to join Indian Navy are :

1. You must be a Citizen of Indian.

2. You should have completed 10+2 with Science Stream (Physics and Mathematics are essential subjects)

3. Your age should be in between 16.5 years to 19 years.

4. Must be an unmarried male.

You, can join Indian Navy once you complete your 12th before that you are not eligible to apply. But, you can start your preparation for the NDA entrance exam.

You are not eligible to join Indian Navy with just 10th class qualification. In order to join Indian Navy, you are required to meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria.

<> You are required to appear in an entrance examination called NDA/ NA exam which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

<> The minimum educational qualification required to apply for NDA Examination is 12th class in 10+2 pattern from a recognized university.

<> There are several wings included in NDA/ NA and they are,
* Indian Navy
* Indian Army
* Indian Air Force

<> Hence, I suggest you to pursue 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in order to be eligible for joining Indian Navy through NDA/ NA.

If you want to join Indian Navy then you have to complete your 10 + 2 with PCM from a Recognised board with at least 60% marks.
10th marks are not going to add up anywhere while selection so you have to focus on your 11th and 12th percentage.

Actually, 10th standard student cannot directly apply for Indian Navy.

He should have completed 10+2 at least to be eligible for applying Indian Navy. There is an exam called NDA exam which is conducted by UPSC every year twice.

After passing 10+2 standard with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, you just have to apply for that exam through UPSC Online portal. Also, appearing candidates can apply for NDA exam.

There are three wings i.e. Air Force, Army and Navy in NDA. So, you can give Navy as your first preference for NDA exam.

=> As per my knowledge, you are not eligible to join Indian Navy after completing 10th class.

=> Candidate should have passed 12th class in science stream from a recognized board.

=> Also there is no requirement of any percentage of marks criteria in any level of education for application to NDA.

Eligibility to join Indian Navy:

One must have completed 12th standard with PCM from a recognised board.

After passing 12th standard, one has to appear in NDA entrance test that is conducted by UPSC in order to join Indian Navy.

Age limit should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

You can not join Indian Navy after 10th standard.

You have to complete 12th standard with Non Medical stream from recognized board to join Indian Navy.

After 12th standard, you are eligible for NDA exam which stands for National Defense Academy conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Arts stream for Indian Army only

After clearing all these stages you can join Indian Navy.

You are not eligible for Indian Navy after 10th.
