no 3rd year students will not appear

no my friend for PSU and IES you should gareduate not in apparing condition.....

According to eligibility criteria you can apply in the final year of B.Tech.

IES - Indian Engineering Services

This is the government services in which the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) organizes and conduct every year to recruit and appoint candidates for the various Engineering posts across the various parts of the country.

On the other hand, the PSU's are the Public Sector Undertaking companies like NTPC, NHPC, BHEL, ONGC, DRDO, ISRO, etc..

These companies used to conduct their own separate entrances, but from now on they have agreed that they would select and recruit candidates on the basis of the GATE score and rank.

GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

This exam is conducted by the IIT's for this common purpose to select candidates for the M.Tech as well as give way for the PSU's to select and recruit their candidates.

Now earlier the 3rd year students were allowed to take part in the IES as well as the GATE examination, but from this year itself this thing is banned. No 3rd year students / pre final year students can apply for the IES/GATE.

So only the Final year students can apply for the GATE/IES examination.

PSU - PUBLIC SECTOR UNDERTAKINGS are big companies recruited Graduate Engineers on the basis of score obtained through GATE.

GATE - GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING conducted by IIT for admission to M.Tech. Courses in various IITs, NITs and BITS etc. and PSU Companies also conduct recruitment of Engineers on the basis of GATE Score.

Earlier the 3rd year B.Tech. candidate can appear for GATE but from this year only Final year B.Tech. candidate can apply for GATE.

IES - Indian Engineering Service conducted by UPSC one every year for recruitment of Engineers in the top Technical post under Central Govt.

The candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

So you can appear for GATE and IES in the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass.
