IES Stands for Engineering Service Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year .

IES Recruitment Branches :-

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

OR Those who have passed M.Sc degree with Special Subjects may also eligible to apply .

Eligibility Criteria for IES :-

Only those who have passed their engineering degree in any recognized University or equivalent qualification and No minimum marks required for this examination . Those who are appearing in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for IES Examination . Do not have any backlogs at the time of appearing for this examination .

Age limits should be between 21 years and 30 years at the time of appearing for this examination and Upper age limits is exits as per the Government Norms . Three year for OBC candidates and Five year for SC/ST candidates .

This year IES Examination was completed on 15/06/12 . If you are missed this chance then don't worry next announcement will be publish in the month of Feb or March in the official website of UPSC as well as employment news paper .

IES entrance test or Indian Engineering Services entrance exam is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services. IES exam is conducted once every year by UPSC. Examination notifications are published in major newspaper and employment news in January / February and exam is conducted in June/ July every year.

IES Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidate should be in age group 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidate should be engineering graduate. However, candidates studying in last semester of engineering can also appear in entrance test but they are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree.
For some selected posts of engineering services, candidates who are holding MSc degree in wireless communications, electronics, radio physics & radio engineering.

IES Exam Selection Procedure:

Entrance test consists of two parts :

Written Exam: there will be 5 papers in written test of 200 marks each as follows:

Paper 1: General Ability Test (General Studies and General English), this will be objective type test & mandatory for each applicant.

Paper 2 & 3: Paper 2 & 3 will be objective type test of 200 marks each based on core engineering subjects (candidate core branch of engineering degree.) The subject comes under these papers are civil engineering / mechanical engg. / electrical engg. / electronics & telecommunication engg.

Paper 4 & 5: paper 4 and 5 will be subjective tests of 200 marks each on core engineering subjects engineering / mechanical engg. / electrical engg. / electronics & telecommunication engg.

Personality Interview: candidates qualified in written test will be called for personal interview where their personality will be judged, the personality interview will be of 200 marks.

The candidates who are completed there engineering course are equivalent course from a recognized university of india that candidates are applicable and their is no percentage of marks required in IES exam.

Indian Engineering Services are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India.

IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

A combined four-stage competitive examination (comprising six tests), called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.
