Sir, I have completed BA Hindi from Patna and now want to get admission in BHU to study MA in Hindi. Please tell me eligibility criteria and selection procedure in BHU for MA Hindi?

Candidate minimum qualification required to apply for M.A Hindi in BHU(Banaras Hindu University) is graduation from government recognized institute with minimum 50% marks obtained.

Admission Procedure:-

>> Candidate in BHU (Banaras Hindu University) the admission is done by written exam known as PET(Postgraduate Entrance Test).

>> Candidate PET exam is generally conducted in the month of May/June every year.

>> Notification regarding PTE exam is released during the month of February every year.

Eligibility criteria for M.A in Hindi in BHU:-
Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Arts in Hindi.
Candidates must have scored at least 50 percent aggregate in Bachelor of Arts in Hindi.
Candidates belonging to OBC and Physically Challenged category must have scored at least 45 percent aggregate in Bachelor of Arts in Hindi.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category do not need any requirement. They just have qualified in Bachelor of Arts in Hindi.

And selection in BHU for M.A Hindi is through entrance examination which is conducted by BHU.

BHU refers to Banaras Hindu University and same is one of the Central University of India known for quality education in various undergraduate, postgraduate and other higher studies degree courses.

As far as you are concerned about taking admission in MA ( Master of Arts ) in Hindi degree course in BHU then for that you need to qualify BHU PET ( Postgraduate Entrance Test ) held by BHU once every year.

Further for appearing in the same examination you need to have completed your three years of graduation or honors degree course in a discipline in which admission is desired at postgraduation level and have managed at least 50% marks ( when marks of three years is taken together ) from a recognized university.

BHU Hindi department is one of the prestigious vibhag for Higher studies of Hindi literature. After B.A. you can apply for M.A. Hindi entrance held annually. There is objective based entrance exam of your subject which you have to clear. If your index is good then you are called for counselling process of BHU where it is decided whether you got Campus or any affiliated college of BHU according to your index merit. For preparation of exam you can read objective question based textbook of Punit Rai and Govind Pandey. You can also look at pratiyogita sahitya book which come for UGC NET/ JRF. These books will be helpful for you in future too for NET exams preparation.
